Susan Warren, Minister to Children

Derbyshire is known throughout the community as a church with a great love for children. We welcome the opportunity to minister to each and every child who enters through our doors, as well as their families. From the moment a child steps into the church, learning and teaching begin.

Children need to experience love, guidance and satisfaction as they learn about God. Our leaders in Children's Ministry teach about becoming more like Jesus through Sunday School, Preschool Discipleship Training, TeamKid, and Children's Bible Drill. Children's Choirs provide musical experiences for young voices (link to musical opportunities) while teaching children about singing praises to God and learning how to worship Him though songs.

Mission Friends, Girls in Action, and Royal Ambassadors teach our children about how the message of God's love is spread though out the world by praying for missionaries, giving an offering to help missionaries, and by encouraging children to tell someone they know about Jesus. Some of our numerous special fun events throughout the year include Vacation Bible School, the Easter Party and Egg Hunt, the Fourth of July Celebration, and the Music and Missions Festival. Each of these developmental programs is developed for appropriate age and grade levels. It is our desire that these programs will compliment each other in laying a lasting spiritual foundation for our children so they may grow in their trust, love, and acceptance of the Lord.
